Bob Thurman (Robert Burns Thurman) was born on May 14, 1917 in Kellyville, Oklahoma. He made his Major League debut on April 14, 1955 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1955, his rookie year, he hit .217 with 7 home runs and 22 RBI. Thurman played for the Cincinnati Reds for his entire 4 year career.

Most people believe that Bob Thurman's best season was 1957, when he slugged 16 home runs.
