Bob Armstrong (Robert Alva Arnstrong, Jr.) was born on February 16, 1909 in Dallas, Texas. After going to high school at Oak Cliff (Dallas, TX), Armstrong attended the University of Missouri. Armstrong made his professional debut in the NFL in 1931 with the Portsmouth Spartans. He played for the Portsmouth Spartans for his entire 2 year career.
