Billy Sunday (William Ashley Sunday) was born on November 9, 1862 in Ames, Iowa. He made his Major League debut on May 22, 1883 for the Chicago White Stockings. In 1884, his rookie year, he hit .222 with 4 home runs and 28 RBI. Sunday played for the Chicago White Stockings, Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Billy Sunday's best season was 1890, when he stole 84 bases.
