Born on October 7, 1903 in East St. Louis, Illinois, Bill Walker (William Henry Walker) played for the New York Giants and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 10 year career. Walker broke into the bigs on September 13, 1927 with the New York Giants, and put up a 4.72 ERA in 76.1 innings pitched in 1928, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bill Walker's best season was 1931, when he posted a 2.26 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 121 batters.
