Born on January 29, 1919 in Greenwood, South Carolina, Bill Voiselle (William Symmes Voiselle) played for the New York Giants, Boston Braves and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 9 year career. Voiselle broke into the bigs on September 1, 1942 with the New York Giants, and put up a 3.02 ERA in 312.2 innings pitched in 1944, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bill Voiselle's best season was 1944, when he posted a 3.02 ERA, won 21 games and struck out 161 batters.
