Bill Terry (William Harold Terry) was born on October 30, 1896 in Atlanta, Georgia. He made his Major League debut on September 24, 1923 for the New York Giants. In 1924, his rookie year, he hit .239 with 5 home runs and 24 RBI. Terry played for the New York Giants for his entire 14 year career.

Most people believe that Bill Terry's best season was 1930, when he slugged 23 home runs, hit for a .401 average and knocked in 129 runs.
