Bill Serena (William Robert Serena) was born on October 2, 1924 in Alameda, California. He made his Major League debut on September 16, 1949 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1950, his rookie year, he hit .239 with 17 home runs and 61 RBI. Serena played for the Chicago Cubs for his entire 6 year career.

Most people believe that Bill Serena's best season was 1950, when he slugged 17 home runs and knocked in 61 runs.
