Born on May 22, 1913 in Brooklyn, New York, Bill Lohrman (William Leroy Lohrman) played for the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Brooklyn Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 9 year career. Lohrman broke into the bigs on June 19, 1934 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 3.32 ERA in 152 innings pitched in 1938, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bill Lohrman's best season was 1942, when he posted a 2.48 ERA and won 14 games.
