Bill Lillard (William Beverly Lillard) was born on January 10, 1918 in Goleta, California. He made his Major League debut on September 11, 1939 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1940, his rookie year, he hit .238 with 1 home run and 21 RBI. Lillard played for the Philadelphia Athletics for his entire 2 year career.
