Born on January 5, 1948 in Camden, New Jersey, Bill Laxton (William Henry Laxton) played for the Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, Seattle Mariners and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 5 year career. Laxton broke into the bigs on September 15, 1970 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 4.09 ERA in 94.2 innings pitched in 1976, his rookie year.
