Bill Kelly (William C. Kelly) was born on June 24, 1905 in Denver, Colorado. After going to high school at Missoula (MT), Kelly attended the University of Montan. Kelly made his professional debut in the NFL in 1927 with the New York Yankees. He played for the New York Yankees, Brooklyn Dodgers and Frankford Yellow Jackets over the course of his 4 year career.
