Bill Dawley
[edit] Biography
Born on February 6, 1958 in Norwich, Connecticut, Bill Dawley (William Chester Dawley) played for the Houston Astros, Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies and Oakland Athletics over the course of his 7 year career. Dawley broke into the bigs on April 15, 1983 with the Houston Astros, and put up a 2.82 ERA in 79.2 innings pitched in 1983, his rookie year.
There is some disagreement on what was Bill Dawley's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1984, when he posted a 1.93 ERA and won 11 games. However, others believe that it was 1983, when he posted a 2.82 ERA, notched 14 saves and struck out 60 batters.
