Bill Crowley (William Michael Crowley) was born on April 8, 1857 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on April 26, 1875 for the Philadelphia White Stockings. In 1877, his rookie year, he hit .282 with 1 home run and 23 RBI. Crowley played for the Philadelphia White Stockings, Louisville Grays, Buffalo Bisons, Boston Red Caps, Philadelphia Athletics, Cleveland Spiders and Boston Beaneaters over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Bill Crowley's best season was 1884, when he knocked in 61 runs.
