Bill Cottrell (William Henry Cottrell) was born on September 18, 1944 in Chester, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Chester (PA), Cottrell attended Delaware Valley College. Cottrell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1967 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions and Denver Broncos over the course of his 5 year career.
