Bill Bergey (William Earl Bergey) was born on February 9, 1945 in South Dayton, New York. After going to high school at South Dayton (NY), Bergey attended Arkansas State University. Bergey made his professional debut in the AFL in 1969 with the Cincinnati Bengals. He played in the AFL for 1 year, playing for the Cincinnati Bengals the entire time. Bergey also played in the NFL for 11 year, playing for the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals over the course of his 11 year NFL career.

Most people believe that 1974 was Bill Bergey's best year, as he picked off 5 passes.
