Bert Rechichar (Albert Daniel Rechichar) was born on July 16, 1930 in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Rostrover Township (PA), Rechichar attended the University of Tennessee. Rechichar made his professional debut in the NFL in 1952 with the Cleveland Browns. He played in the NFL for 9 years, playing for the Baltimore Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns over the course of his 9 year NFL career.Rechichar also played in the AFL for 1 year, playing for the New York Titans the entire time.

Most people believe that 1953 was Bert Rechichar's best year, as he picked off 7 passes, ran back an interception for a touchdown and recovered 3 opponents fumbles.
