Bert Haas (Berthold John Haas) was born on February 8, 1914 in Naperville, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on September 9, 1937 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1942, his rookie year, he hit .239 with 6 home runs and 54 RBI. Haas played for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Giants and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 8 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Bert Haas's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1942, when he knocked in 54 runs. However, others believe that it was 1946, when he knocked in 50 runs.
