Bernard Gilkey (Otis Bernard Gilkey) was born on September 24, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on September 4, 1990 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1991, his rookie year, he hit .216 with 5 home runs and 20 RBI. Gilkey played for the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Bernard Gilkey's best season was 1996, when he slugged 30 home runs, hit for a .317 average and knocked in 117 runs.
