Benny Barnes (Benny Jewell Barnes) was born on March 3, 1951 in Lufkin, Texas. After going to high school at Kennedy (Richmond, CA), Barnes attended Contra Costa JC and Stanford University. Barnes made his professional debut in the NFL in 1972 with the Dallas Cowboys. He played for the Dallas Cowboys for his entire 11 year career.

Most people believe that 1978 was Benny Barnes's best year, as he picked off 5 passes.
