Benny Ayala (Benigno (Felix) Ayala) was born on February 7, 1951 in Yauco, Puerto Rico. He made his Major League debut on August 27, 1974 for the New York Mets. In 1980, his rookie year, he hit .265 with 10 home runs and 33 RBI. Ayala played for the New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, Baltimore Orioles and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 10 year career.
