Ben Flowers

Born on June 15, 1927 in Wilson, North Carolina, Ben Flowers (Bennett Flowers) played for the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 4 year career. Flowers broke into the bigs on September 29, 1951 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 3.86 ERA in 79.1 innings pitched in 1953, his rookie year.
