Ben Derr (Benjamin Harrison Derr) was born on June 25, 1892 in Turton, South Dakota. After going to high school at Shattuck Military Academy (Fairbult, MN), Derr attended the University of Pennsylvania. Derr made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Chicago Tigers. He played for the Hammond Pros and Chicago Tigers over the course of his 2 year career.
