Barney Hafen (Banard Ervin Hafen) was born on November 20, 1921 in Santa Clara, Utah. After going to high school at Dixie (St. George, UT), Hafen attended The Univesity of Utah. Hafen made his professional debut in the NFL in 1949 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 2 year career.
Most people believe that 1950 was Barney Hafen's best year, as he recovered 4 opponents fumbles.
