BMW Championship

A new tournament on the PGA Tour beginning in 2007. It is the 3rd tournament in the FedEx Cup playoff series. The top 70 ranked players in the FedEx Cup playoff points competition are allowed to compete. After the tournament's completion, the top 30 scorers in the playoffs compete in The Tour Championship, the final tournament of the FedEx Cup playoffs.

In 2007, the BMW Championship will be played at Cog Hill Golf Club in Lemont, Illinois. It will return to this course every other year. In even numbered years, the tournament will be held at other courses throughout the mid-west. The current schedule is:

2008 Bellerive Country Club (St. Louis)

2010 Crooked Stick Golf Club (Indianapolis)

2012 TBD

This tournament is different from the BMW PGA Championship which is an annual men's golf tournament on the European Tour.
