  • Rickey Henderson of the Oakland Athletics steals four bases against the Milwaukee Brewers, setting a new single season record of 122 bases along the way. The previous record set in 1974 by Lou Brock of 118, was broken in the 3rd Inning after getting on base with a walk from Doc Medich. Henderson would go on to steal 130 bases for the season.

  • Doug Mirabelli made his MLB debut for the San Francisco Giants. He came into the game in the 9th inning as part of a double substitution in a 3-2 loss against the Philadelphia Phillies. He was 0-1 in the game.
