Augie Bergamo (August Samuel Bergamo) was born on February 14, 1917 in Detroit, Michigan. He made his Major League debut on April 25, 1944 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1944, his rookie year, he hit .286 with 2 home runs and 19 RBI. Bergamo played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 2 year career.
