At the End of the First Quarter . . . . . .

Why Fox Licks Bag

Jason Whitlock of Fox wrote another idiotic, racially biased piece about how Donovan McNabb is a victim of racism. It saddens me at how eager Whitlock is to embarass himself over racial issues, when he has some otherwise very sound football insights.Question for Jay and Dumbavan. Are the fans in TN slobbering all over Vince Young because he's white? Were the fans in ATL willing to eat shitload after shitload from Mike Vick because he was white? Come on Jason. Dumbavan is crying because Rush was right. He's overhyped, in a stat happy system and just not a big game QB. Like every QB in the NFL, he runs the risk of being criticized not for his skin color, but for his performance. Get over the race card losers. Here's the little bit more any QB has to do; win. Coaches, ex-Coaches, and soon to be ex-Coaches

SD Slide -I warned you guys, But even I'm surprised that Norv has the team dead to rights before week 12. I've never seen a coach so quickly destroy a team. Norv has installed his country club mentality and his team plays like it every sunday. Sloppy execution, poor fundamentals, and whole lot of frustration result. Now Philip Rivers looks exactly like the immensely gifted rookie QB he was last year.

Brad Childress made the cardinal error that so many know it all coaches make. Thinking that the QB posotion isn't every bit as important at the HC job. Bill Cowher lost out on a few rings because he thought games were won from the sideline, and Childress will lose his job if he keeps the mindset that Tavaris Jackson is anything more than a practice squad QB.

Speaking of Cardinal errors, they aren't making them anymore in Tempe. Coach Ken Whisenhunt has the Cards playing disciplined, tough football. I still prefer Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh, but if he gets over this using Warner to piss Leinart off into playing better, Whis is going to be a very good choice in Arizona. Whis is a lot like Cowher, but actually holds his players accountable.

Yet Bill Cowher is not as dumb as I thought he was. His work on CBS has gone from weak to very respectable in just 4 weeks. But he's even more pigheaded and egotistical than I thought, too. You can see it when the co-anchors challenge him. Still, I have to feel good for Bilbo. Even though he still looks like a cro-magnon, he's doing very nicely on CBS and might want to stick with the TV gig so's he can have some quality of life for a few years.

And by the way, I have a serious case of "man-love" for Mike Tomlin. I can't stop saying how great it is to have a CEO/HC back in the Burgh. Tomlin proves every week, why he should have been the hands down choice in Pittsburgh. Just listen to the guy for five minutes. You'll know what I mean.

Back on the Favre Train -Suddenly,every talking head is doing a Madden impression. Favre's been getting his ass kicked and choking for nine years running, so suddenly he takes a team of pretenders to 4-0 by playing smart for a change and he's the best ever? Ridiculous. Tell me how Bradshaw is the best, or Montana, or Otto Graham, or Troy Aikman, or anybody whose won more than one SB, and I can hear you. Here's what Favre is great at, showing up for work, whining about retirement, and playing like a retard when his coach doesn't handcuff him. Best ever? Insane.

Bad to Worse 101 -Here's what happens when you bench Rex Grossman for Brian Griese. You go from a guy who makes idiotic mistakes but still produces wins, to a guy who makes idiotic mistakes and produces losses. Lovie has not only undercoached Grossman, now he's proven that he knows nothing about QB's altogether. Grossman might have had a terrible season, but Griese will kill the Bears for sure. Maybe Rex will get some help from his next HC. Rex is an NFL QB with all the talent in the world, he just needs a kick in the ass and a little guidance. Griese is a drunk and a 3 time loser. 2 of Griese's 3 picks last week were inside the 10. Nice work Lovie.

Ocho Out of Control-O -Why do coaches allow players to run the game from the sidelines? I never see coaches running on the field to line up at HB or WR. Let's get is straight, Marvin. Coaches Coach and players play. The rant was way overdue, but let's see if you actually follow through, or pull a Cowher and make a big fuss only to throw the same garbage out on the field next week? The fact is, Chad Johnson has the talent of a man, and the brain of an ocho year old. Lewis needs to get the inmates under control, and this sissy is the worst in the yard.

Wrong about Randy -truth is, Moss is the best off-season acquisition I've seen since the NFL decided to have a college draft. But let's get real for a second. teams are playing Moss the exact opposite way they should play him. When you have a receiver you can't run with, you bust him in the mouth on every play. If teams want to beat NE, they have to show the guts to play Moss like NE plays Harrison. Beat him up.

Shufflin off to 5-0? No. For some reason, I think the Boys go north and get a taste of some AFC coookin'. Buffalo is due to play a football game this season, and Tony Romo is good, but not that good. Besides, the story in Western NY for the rest of the year will be the emergence of Trent Edwards and the disappearnace of JP Loseman. Loseman was a Tom Donahoe (the guy who drafted Kordell Stewart) special to begin with. He'll be looking for backup work next season.

Leinart wants the Ride or Die deal -Matty, you're rapidly showing yourself as a crybaby from a college team that had more talent practicing third string than most other division ones had starting. Get over yourself, shut your mouth, and play better. The only option is to start crying about how fans expect more from you because you're white. See how well that works for McChoke?

McNair might actually be done -It's true sports fans, the guy who used to perform at peak even though his arm was falling off, or he was missing a leg, can't seem to get past a sore groin these days. In the old days, McNair]] could pull out (regular season) wins from a wheelchair. Now he's looking more and more like a shell of the gut from TN. I can't say that bothers me though, he positively owns my Steelers.

The Saints go limping out -another I told you so. No ether left over from the Katrina disaster, and more holes on defense than a block of Lorraine Swiss, the Saints now turn to an East/West dancer named Reggie. No ether, no D, no RB, no chance.

Travis (THC) Henry -thinks he can sue the NFL out of a drug test. So what if he wins? Goodell can suspend him for breaking the law with a drug related offense. It never ceases to amaze me how NFL players who just banked ten mil. or so, need to get stoned so badly, that they'll risk their careers over a cheap high. If the Broncos are wondering why they're having trouble competing these days, they ought to look at losers like Henry as the reason.

Start the Carr? Carolina, insistent on hiding a very serious injury to Jake Delhomme with this "day to day" silliness, now finds the keys to the franchise in the hands of David Carr. I can't imagine how they thought signing Carr made any sense whatsoever. The guy is a proven bum. Al you have to do is watch Matt Schaub for one quarter to see how bad that Texan offensive line wasn't and how bad Carr was. Unless Jake can make it back (and I'd bet he has the same injury that finished Bradshaw, and sent Montana packing to KC) the Panthers are in for hard times.

Last but maybe least -The Browns may not win but they will compete with the Belicheats this week.

McNabb is not overhyped. Now, I don't consider his criticism to have anything to do with race, but Rush Limbaugh (and you if you agree with him) is an idiot. He's one of the top QBs in the game; including big games. Four straight NFC championship games and one super bowl is a nice resume if you ask me. And he had next to no offensive talent for most of those games.

Why is is that whenever a QB gets to 4 NFCC games and a SB, he's a great QB, but when he loses 3-4 NFCC's and pukes away the SB, he has no talent around him. If he's the only reason they got there (no talent around him), hemust be the reason they lost there.

No, he lost there, because, since he had no talent around him, they lost to a team who had alot more talent (the patriots).
