As the Soap Opera Turns....

The Jets face the undefeated Patriots on Sunday. The game already has plenty of storylines, the pursuit of perfection, Coach vs. Mentor, Spygate. I think it is safe to say that this rivalry is in full swing. And as as if the game needed anymore, we get more.......

There were several reports, such as newyorkjets.com, that up in Foxboro last season, a Jets employee was caught taping the game from the endzone level and was asked to stop. Head coach Eric Mangini confirmed that this was during the Wild Card game last January, rather than regular season.

When asked about the procedure, here is how Mangini responded:

"We taped the game is what we taped," Mangini said today in response to a question about the stories. "And we taped an end-zone copy of the game. We tape a double-end-zone, which is standard operating procedure for us. We request that every single road game, and it's usually granted if physically it's possible."

Mangini further went on to explain that this is a common courtesy done at many games, and the Jets grant the permission to do this when they entertain the request.

Mangini noted that they were granted permission to take the video, so they did so. When asked why the employee was removed, Mangini responded by stating, "We had asked permission, it was granted, and then that changed and we respect their decision. It's their stadium."

For this upcoming Sunday's game, the Jets did not even make the videotaping request. And the saga continues......

I can't wait til this game is over so this stupid term "Spygate" goes away... The NFL sent a memo to EVERY team before the season started. Mangini didn't tattle on anyone.
