Grant McAuley
Grant McAuley covers baseball for the Braves Radio Network. Over the past four seasons, McAuley has made daily contributions on his "Braves Insider" page for network flagship websites, 640 WGST and 94.9 The Bull as well as MLB.com's MLBlog site.

In 2006, McAuley penned a look back on the 14-consecutive Divisional Titles won by the Atlanta Braves, as part of a 1-hour show, voiced by long-time Braves broadcaster Skip Caray. The show highlights and honors the accomplishments of the team from 1991-2005. McAuley was also featured in ESPN Classic's "Top 5 Reason You Can't Blame," as they focused on Braves manager Bobby Cox in a show first airing in September of that year.

The Tomahawk Times - Holliday's homer lifts Rockies over Braves, 2-1

DENVER -- The struggling offense of the Colorado Rockies may not be running on all cylinders quite yet, but it did pick the right time to turn over on Monday. Matt Holliday belted a go-ahead two-run homer off Blaine Boyer in the eighth that gave the Rockies a 2-1 victory.

Tom Glavine suffered another tough luck no-decision after hurling six and a third shut-out innings at the Rockies. Despite Peter Moylan getting out of the seventh inning unscathed, Boyer was unable to keep Colorado off the board.

Holliday entered play hitting .182 with just a solo homer to his credit through the first six games this season and was 0-for-3 against Braves pitching on the night. Troy Tulowitzki opened the eighth with a lead-off double to set the stage for Holliday, who deposited Boyer's first pitch offering over the center field wall to give Colorado the 2-1 advantage.

Despite a single by Kelly Johnson to open the ninth, Atlanta was retired in order by Rockies closer Manny Corpas. After Yunel Escobar bounded into a double-play, Chipper Jones grounded out for the final out of Corpas' second save of the year.

In addition to a solid ninth for Corpas, who had struggled in his last outing against Arizona, Colorado also received a strong performance from Aaron Cook. Through seven innings, Cook limited the Braves to a run on two hits and needed just 73 pitches to do so.

The Rockies snapped a five game losing streak with Holliday's late inning heroics. Through two starts and 11.1 innings of work, Glavine has allowed just two runs and owns a 0.79 ERA on the young season.

On Deck: Jair Jurrjens will face Ubaldo Jimenez of Colorado in the second of the four game series on Tuesday. Game time is set for 8:35 PM EST.

In the News

The Los Angeles Dodgers swept the Chicago Cubs, completing an "upset" (for lack of a better word). It was their first postseason sweep since 1963. L.A. is advancing to the NLCS to play against the Philadelphia Phillies thanks to the tremendous arm of Hiroki Kuroda and James Loney's two-run double in the first.
