The Eagles Are Too Stupid

What the hell is all the buzz about “Ocho Cinco” going to the Philadelphia Eagles? Don’t get me wrong I don’t want to go off on another rant about “Why the Eagles Suck” but I do want to bring to everyones attention that: “The Eagles Are Too Stupid” to sign a high caliber player such as Chad Johnson. Not to mention, Chad would be just as stupid to think that he can play in a Philly uniform alongside one of the most overrated, self-centered quarterbacks in the league.

I guess I can’t blame the Eagles for continuing to sell newspapers and pipe dreams to their fans by making this unrealistic “Ocho Cinco” deal seem substantial. However, it all makes sense considering they haven’t a single Super Bowl win in their entire NFL existence. They have to sell something because dreams are made to seem real. The Eagles have to realize that for whatever reason, McNabb’s ego is way too big to coexist with another superstar on offense and it doesn’t matter if they bring in a Pro-Bowl caliber playmaker, they will not get along.

If McNabb was so good why not just turn average receivers into superstars? Brett Favre has managed to do it with names such as, Sterling Sharpe, Antonio Freeman, Donald Driver, and the more recent Greg Jennings. Why can’t McNabb do it? He’s already proven that he couldn’t coexist with a superstar and he’s proven throughout his career that he cannot turn an average receiver into a superstar. McNabb, leave the “Ocho Cinco” idea alone. You wanted playmakers and the front office brought in Desean Jackson. But, if you keep crying long enough maybe you can bring in Moss, Steve Smith, Terrel Owens and then you will have all the playmakers you’ve asked for.

So why are “The Eagles Too Stupid”? You figure it out!

"McNabb’s ego is way too big to coexist with another superstar on offense and it doesn’t matter if they bring in a Pro-Bowl caliber playmaker, they will not get along." - Based on what? His time with TO? You must be kidding if you think McNabb was the problem there.

"Not to mention, Chad would be just as stupid to think that he can play in a Philly uniform alongside one of the most overrated, self-centered quarterbacks in the league." - Once again, based on what?

"You wanted playmakers and the front office brought in Desean Jackson" - Really? That's your playmaker compared to Ocho Cinco?

I'll be honest with you...the only plays jackson will really have are as a KR/PR... If he becomes anything close to a solid reeeiver, its a total bonus (and I hope he does)

And you mention Sterling Sharpe, Antonio Freeman and Donald Driver in such a way that you seem to be saying they sucked. Um, they didn't. Favre has had Edgar Bennet, Ahman Green and a very respectable offensive line his entire career. Trying to compare Favre and McNabb is like trying to compare apples and applesauce. They might be sort of similar but there is way too many differences to even try.

Why compare McNabb to Favre...

They are not the same player...McNabb isn't as good...but Sharpe, Driver and Freeman are no slouches...or at least not Brown, Curtis, Small, Johnson or Pinkston...come on now

On top of that...McNabb's career high in INTs is 13 (2000) while Favre's is 29 (2006?)

Remember how great Ownens was with McNabb before all the drama? How about McNabb with a healthy Stallworth? McNabb could have been one of the best quarterbacks in history if he only had an All-Pro type wide-out...

This is just silly (Steelers fan agreeing with JuT, by the way). Ocho Cinco is a malcontent, yes...but he doesn't come close to being the malcontent that TO is or that Randy Moss is. And they both seem quite happy in their new environments. Winning cures a lot of ails. And if McNabb does have a big ego...perhaps he's entitled. He's had to shoulder being pretty much responsible for the offense. Westbrook's arrival helped, but when did Reid ever give McNabb anything to take the pressure off? Besides TO...? McNabb is one of the best in the game. I think that if he could throw to 85, both guys would be very happy. Don't dis McNabb for his ego...that's not a problem that has hurt the Eagles. A lack of a big-time receiver, in my mind, is the culprit.

Make it two Patriots fans. I know we as fans and NFL die hards tend to favor Super Bowl wins (and to a lesser extent, appearances) but three straight NFC championship game appearances? Give me a break, the guy is a supreme talent. If you think otherwise, you are a complete and utter dumb ass.
