Half way through and we have are final four, two teams were expected to be here are and two... not so much, but should be two great series

Eastern Conference Final

#2Pittsburgh Penguins 47-27-8, 102 pts vs. #6 Philadelphia Flyers 42-29-11, 95 pts: Flyers won season series 5-3

A rivalry of sorts within the Pennslyvania hockey community but not so much within the rest of the NHL community but this series could let everyone know that this is huge, coming in alot of people said including my self that the Flyers couldn't get by the Caps and let alone the Habs in the 2nd round. This series is shaping up to be long if the Flyers do there job and shut down the 3 headed monster in Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby and Marian Hossa which I think they can do, use the body, get in the face of Marc-Andre Fleury and i think they can run with the quick Pens.

Sleeper Player for Pittsburgh: Jordan Staal, 3pts
Sleeper Player for Philadelphia: Joffrey Lupul, 6pts

Prediction: Flyers over Penguins in 7

Western Conference Final

#1 Detroit Red Wings 54-21-7, 115 pts vs. #5 Dallas Stars 45-30-7, 97 pts: Red Wings won season series 3-1

Best team all year breezed through the 1st and 2nd round and they now run into the Dallas Stars who have out hit and out played 2 of the early favorites in Anaheim and San Jose but now Detroit who has silenced the haters and easily controlled the Avalanche, Johan Franzen broke Gordie Howe's playoff record for most goals in a single playoff series with 9 and it took him 4 games to do it, Dallas has been getting help from all ends of the ice Marty Turco played an outstanding Game 6 against San Jose which went to 4 overtimes, Dallas can win if they be physical and shutdown the speed and skill of the Red Wings.

sleeper Player for Detroit: Johan Franzen, 14pts Sleeper Player for Dallas: Stephane Robidas, 8pts

Prediction: Red Wings in 6

I'm not quite sure what qualifies as a sleeper pick at this point, but I doubt that you can put Franzen in that category anymore based on what he has done so far in the playoffs. Maybe I'm nitpicking...nice analysis though. I'm still liking the Wings though playoff history scares me and I'm getting closer and closer to being undecided on the Pens/Flyers series.

Gotcha, then Franzen is the perfect pick. He's really come through.

A rivalry indeed. Everyone knows that the Flightless Birdies embody everything that is good and glorious about the great sport of hockey whilst that rabble from the eastern half of the state, well, not so much.

Once the Flyers shutdown the three headed monster, Petr Sykora will skate in and score the winning goal. This is a many-headed monster. I think after the series you will not longer be calling it a "rivalry of sorts", you'll see it for the rivalry it is.
