Instead of writing on one specific subject, I am going to cover a few...

  • Scott Kazmir has elbow discomfort and is getting an MRI and now ManRay is retiring...so much for the Bay Rays breakout year.
  • Welcome home Cam Janssen.
  • Roger Goodell will go down as the best commissioner in the history of the NFL.
  • Are the New England Patriots trying to take the Bengals crown? Ask Willie Andrews and Kevin Faulk.
  • The Buffalo Bills should just move to Toronto and get it over with.
  • Vanderbilt proved that Tennessee is now "The Upset State".
  • Now that Yao is more concerned with getting better in time for the Beijing Olympics, it is time for Dikembe Mutombo to find his old mojo. (That is for you NBA fans.)
  • I do not know which bothers me more....that teams are actually considering giving Barry Bonds a job, or that Senator Byrd; third in line to the presidency was in the KKK.
  • From everything I have heard and read it seems that Juan Gonzalez is going to make the St. Louis Cardinals opening day roster.
  • Sorry Tyrone the Scrubs are not going to win the World Series this season let alone the NL Central.
  • After one of the GREATEST college football seasons ever, this off-season has been filled with a ton of off-field problems.
  • Free Martel Van Zant, someone draft this guy. He does work.
  • NIU football players Tim Mayerbock and Britt Davis are heroes. College Football needs more athletes like them.
  • The Jacksonville Jaguars need to pick a QB in the draft (or at least sign a free agent one), David Garrard, and Quinn Gray are not the answer. I'd like to see Colt Brennan in a Jags uniform, but then again I am biased.
  • Will Smith may be backing Barack Obama, but one day he will be President, mark my words.

Well that is all I have for now...have a Happy Hump Day everyone.

"Hefty Lefty" would be an upgrade for sure. I wouldn't mind seeing him as a Jag.

yeah, I don't know how anyone can say the jags need a new QB considering their current one led them to a 4th quarter comeback on the road in the playoffs, and the guy Cornfed wants was cut by the falcons.

I never said anything about wanting Leftwich back. That was JuT. Garrad is a good QB, not great. I appericate all he has done for the team and probably will do as I do not see them replacing him. And while he did lead that comeback, Josh Scobee sealed it.

So? That's the point of the 2 minute offense. You move the ball into field goal range so the kicker can put you in the lead or tie it up

I never said it wasn't FP. I'm just saying and you kind of prove my point "2 minute offense" is a whole offensive effort, and if it had not been for Garrard's 2 INT there would not have been a need for a comeback.

David Garrard's not the answer? His 102.2 rating this season would like to talk to you.

He is a "safe" QB, he is not the answer. He will never lead Jacksonville to a Super Bowl victory.

If safe quarterbacks post 102.2 ratings, I'll take them over sudden superstars, namely Eli Manning and 20 INT in 2007

Leftwich - NO Brohm, Ryan, or Brennan - Who knows till they get a chance to show what they can do in the NFL.

so you want to roll the dice, pick either a guy in the most pass happy offense in college, a one year wonder, and a guy who when he finally got a shot to prove himself in the primetime, put up his worst game? I just don't see any reason not to stay with Garrard. He probably won't get the jags to the super bowl, but then again, that's not a reflection of him so much as it is a reflection of the AFC. The Steelers, Pats, and Colts are the cream of the crop, the Chargers are always on the verge of breaking out again, the titans and the jags are on the rise, the browns are getting close, the AFC West is going to improve (at least denver will), the texans are no longer the laughing stock of the NFL. That's 9 teams that all can say they are a legit contender, or close to it. getting to the super bowl out of the AFC is damned near impossible. Even the 6th seed will be a huge challenge to knock off

As I said above I don't see them getting rid of Garrard. They will probably hold onto him and use him like they did Mark Brunell, I would take a gamble on Brennan especially if they can let him learn the offense and mop up games for a season or two. Brennan is really talented, accurate, and has a big upside. I never really liked Ryan or Brohm, I think Brohm showed he wasn't as great as everyone thought this past season.

What has Brennan shown though? The guy was given an oppertunity to shine, and he blew it. I would stay away from him if I was a GM. Btws, if Garrard is a safe QB, I think the Vikings will give their first round pick for him with pleasure (why wouldn't they?)

For some reason the Vikings love Tarvaris Jackson, I doubt they would give up that pick for a back-up. But if you can convince them to give the Jaguars a 1st Round Pick for Garrard, I'm sure they would be willing to take it.

It will be interesting to see if Juan Gonzalez does make it on the opening day roster. He not only hits for power but has a decent lifetime batting average.

Tennessee has been on a roller coaster ride this week. The previous No.1 team Memphis lost to my team Tennessee and now Tennessee has lost to another Tennessee team Vanderbilt. Living in Knoxville I have to root for Tennessee. Before moving here last August we were LSU fans since we lived about 100 miles from Baton Rouge.

Garrard needs receivers, he's a good QB. But getting Mr. Drop Everything Troy Williamson was a waste of a 6th round draft pick. I would think about signing DJ Hackett from the Seahawks or Bernard Berrian from the Bears in free agency.

Yeah Williamson is a waste, Berrian would be nice but he wants too much money, Hackett seems a viable option.
