About the Author

BigPPup
AGM Linebacker and I will bring the pain.

I'm a sports fanatic. I hail from Nelson County Virginia, and thats where I learned to be a Virginia Cavalier fan. I also learned to be a Dallas Cowboys fan because I hated how good the Redskins were doing. I've played sports at almost every level with the exception of being a fulltime professional, as a result I have a great perception on the sporting world. I love to talk sports and I've never been shy to share my opinion with someone.

It's not the matchup I wanted, but Walker's Rants always brings out the best matchups

Well the Super Bowl teams are set, and I can guarantee I’m not the only one who is less than excited to watch the big game this year. But that’s okay; another edition of Walker’s Rants will give me enough to get through this overhyped Patriots season.

The New York Giants have been a surprise….

They cannot beat the Patriots. They won’t even emulate the performance they had in December…

All the upsets this weekend in college basketball were great, but they don’t mean a thing…

Sadly for all of us, Roy Jones Jr. managed to extend his career just a few months longer…

The Washington Redskins need to end this farce and hire Gregg Williams as their coach…

How did UVA allow 4 of its players to become academically ineligible for the 2008 season?

Even if the Bulls record sucks this year, I applaud them for the way they have handled Noah this season…

Defense wins championships…

The Chargers let one off the hook…

The Buffalo Bills playing a game in Toronto next season is a good idea…

It’s truly a shame that Brett Favre will not play in another Super Bowl…

Norm Chow proves there’s no loyalty in college football…

Does anyone actually watch the Aussie open?

Jerry Jones is straight gangster the way he conducts business...

The Boston Celtics will not win the NBA Championship…

The Washington Wizards will be better with Gilbert Arenas coming off the bench…

LT… not the man that we thought he was?

I don’t like Philip Rivers, but I’ll give him credit for being a tough SOB…

Watching Duke Basketball makes me want to puke…

Give props to the Undertaker for firing the head coach on Thanksgiving Day and now the Caps are 15-7-4…

Did you see how flabby Trinidad was in that fight? Goodness he got blown out.

Yeah Trinidad looked like he had enjoyed his time off way too much. No wonder he had no trouble getting up to the 170 weight.

I watched him and Evgeni Malkin last night and you could tell that they each inspired the other to push harder, great stuff to watch.

Malkin is another great player who gets less run than he deserves because of Crosby, I think he will reallyshine over the next month.

I don't care how far Roy Jones Jr has fallen. I will never forget how great he was.

I said Jones would win the fight. Trinidad has lost 3 of 4 fights from 160 and above. He is not made for higher weight classes. Jones won the freaking heavyweight division!

For as much mouth as he has, he was one of the best to ever watch.

I agree, Jones at 170 is very easy for him to to drop down to, and he is used to carrying that weight. It's very difficult for a fighter to put on weight and become accustomed to moving with it.

I enjoy his raps... His yap is meh..."funny" as a boxer but downright EXHILARATING as an announcer! He's so bad he's AWESOME! But seriously, there was a stretch of the 90's when I thought he was the baddest man on the planet. I still maintain that he could've beaten Mike Tyson.

Funny that you bring that up, I had that debate for a while this weekend on weather or not he could have beaten Mike. I think it would have been a hell of a fight, and if we are talking Tyson in the mid to late 90's then yes he would have, but he would have to move a lot and stay away from Tyson.

Tyson was a brawler, a beast, a puncher and Jones was a surgeon/ninja.

How many fights did Jones have where he didn't even get hit? If middleweights and light heavyweights weren't touching Roy, how was ANY heavyweight going to touch him? Tyson was fast for a heavyweight, but he wasn't going to touch Roy.

Also Tyson got frustrated against "boxers" - guys that could jab and move and flew open on his punches when he was frustrated and mad. He was target practice for jabbers. It's how Buster Douglas beat him and how Holyfield annoyed him into becoming an ear biter. Roy would have had Tyson angry, unfocused and confused the whole fight.

Roy was too precision and too lightning quick and too fine tuned for Tyson to contend with.
