Hank Steinbrenner Must Think He Means Something

How long has Hank Steinbrenner been running the Yankees? And how long should it take before you can start to throw bricks at other sports?

Well, I guess it is close to the same amount.

Hanky-poo is Daddy’s boy. He has now taken over the richest baseball franchise there is and I guess he is tired of seeing his players getting slammed for cheating. Even the ones that have admitted it.

He came out against the NFL today: "Everybody that knows sports knows football is tailor-made for performance-enhancing drugs," AP quoted Steinbrenner as saying last night. "I don't know how they skate by."

It wasn't MLB....nooooooo the NFL is to blame. (Picture: Pat Oliphant)

Let me tell you how (According to NFL spokesman Greg Aiello):

  1. The NFL has had year- round random testing with immediate suspensions since 1990.
  2. They have conducted approximately 12,000 steroids tests a year.

That is enough for me. Of course, I am sure there are those out there that abuse it, and it would be naïve to think that the NFL has had no users (Look at Bill Romanowski) but at least they have taken steps to stop it.

The top-brass of the MLB doesn’t seem to want it cleaned up. The NFL at least tries.

Really, Hank, go back to playing pinochle.

AOEH, steroids = Performance Enhancement.

Performance Enhancement = Better Play

Better Play = Marketing Better Play

Marketing Better Play = Money

Money = Thing that these men love so much.

I rest my case.:)

SSR does understand the facts...its all about money, which is why this problem never came to light until now... Fans were upset enough that there was a threat to stop the flow of cash...and then baseball decided to clean up...

It's odd that Selig took until 2003 (2004?) to come up with the steroids policy don't ya think?

I agree that it is all about money, but does Hank really have a right to throw stones? What has he accomplished?

It is like my boss always says:

He can throw stones...doesn't mean he'll hit the target.

If NFL records were nearly as significant to the public as baseball's, then the NFL would be under equal scrutiny.

I'm not naive, I know that it happens. My point: Steinbrenner, shut up and try to fix it.

I hate to say it, but the fact he runs the Yankees now makes he him mean something in the sports world whether or not he deserves it

Nothing wrong with Hgh. Every single person in the world should be on Hgh. No different than a multi-vitamin, or an anti-oxidant, or omega-IIIs.

The Los Angeles Dodgers swept the Chicago Cubs, completing an "upset" (for lack of a better word). It was their first postseason sweep since 1963. L.A. is advancing to the NLCS to play against the Philadelphia Phillies thanks to the tremendous arm of Hiroki Kuroda and James Loney's two-run double in the first.
