Ex-Pats employee Walsh sends NFL video of Pats' taping.

And so it begins.

Matt Walsh has come forward with 8 videotapes and has handed them over to the NFL in what has the makings of a major scandal. Granted, the mysterious and infamous St. Louis Rams tape was not one of those surrendered, but they did in fact include games with the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills (both division rivals), Cleveland Browns and San Diego Chargers. Also included was a tape of the Pittsburgh Steelers, whom the Patriots managed to upset in the AFC Championship Game, 24-17 even after Tom Brady had been replaced with Drew Bledsoe.

Walsh's name first surfaced just before this year's Super Bowl, nearly five months after the Patriots were sanctioned for illegally taping the New York Jets in the season opener -- resulting in a $500,000 fine for coach Bill Belichick, a $250,000 fine for the organization, and the loss of a first-round draft pick. If these 8 tapes do give evidence of more cheating, who knows what fines and penalties could be levied against the Patriots.

What Roger Goodell does with these tapes remains to be seen but it bears watching. Cheaters never prosper Coach Belichick (even though they do tend to win Super Bowls some how).

This just seems to be more of the same evidence the league has already seen. The Superbowl walkthrough was what the commish was interested in, not more of the same.

While I agree that the league knew about these tape, this takes it a step further by their having them in hand. It will help build their case when/if they decide if this warrants legal action. Plus, anything that might make Belichick squirm is fine in my book.

Agreed, anything that further shows that they are a pack of lying liars is OK by me.

Mike and Mike are on ESPN right now putting their typical East Coast spin on this whole thing. They're poo-pooing the whole thing as a tempest in a teapot. I love how anything at all that comes out negatively about a New York/Boston team is quickly swept under the rug. If this had happened anywhere else, it would be rammed down out throats. East Coast bias? Nahhh...
