The Stream of Consciousness is the process of the chain of thoughts that occur in one's head.  Simply put, the thought of one thing in the mind leads to the next thought and the next through association.  It is how the thoughts flow.  It is how you can go from thinking about baseball to wondering if the stove is turned off at home.  It is that stream that flows...

Direct from English 102, these are the notes from the thoughts of the falcon...

We are talking about poetry.  Correction. "She is talking about poetry," and, "We are bored out of our minds."  Currently she is rambling about Robert Frost's "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening."

"Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."
~Robert Frost

"That's great stuff Rob... up, here she goes on another rant about how it means something... snow... night... Foxboro...

"Those new New England fans are awfully quiet... those who were fans before the season started are still around, but that band wagon emptied quickly.  Stupid Super Bowl, why'd the Giants have to go and win it all like that? I hate the Giants (It comes with being an Eagles fan).  That was the only reason I wanted to see the Patriots win (besides shutting up the '72 Dolphins)...

"Speaking of Giants, Shaq is doing a nice job out in the desert. The Suns have a much better chance of winning it all with The Diesel than with the Marion... Shaq has been doing well, but the laws of the universe say that "For every one player/team doing well, another player/team must be sucking." That title must go to Emeka Okafor.  He's on my fantasy team, it is playoff time, and he hasn't had a double-double since Mid-March. I wonder what he did the other night? He better get it straightened out... NOW!

"For some reason Okafor reminds me of Sheldon Williams. Has he done anything since coming out of Duke? Being the only guy to ever average a double-double under Coach K. I thought he might be bigger in the NBA because he wouldn't be as hindered as he was in the Duke system.  Haha... Duke. I can only laugh. It is not because I dislike them or anything, it is just funny how they were a two seed and imploded.  I mean, wtf? How can they just barely win in the first round, then turn around and lose in the second?

"Oh, duh... K-Napp (My former English teacher and basketball guru. Mr. Knapp was his name but every year the class gave him a nickname. The class prior to mine called him Napster, while the class following mine nick-named him Coach K. Back to my actual train of thought...) K-Napp always said "Live by the 3-point shot, Die by the 3-point shot." In Duke's case, he was one hundred percent correct. I bet he even predicted that they'd lose too. I loved his English class... oh snap, I'm in English..."

After a brief hiatus, I return from a little convo with the cute little Asian who sides beside me...

"I bet I'd pay more attention if my teacher wasn't sooo ugly. I can't stand to look forward more than a few minutes. It is horrendous... She should shut the hell up and go get a facking (yes, I use the word facking with an "A" now even outside the chair) make-over. You know who isn't ugly? Maria Sharapova...  Damn, she's hot. Has tennis started up yet? Is tennis spelled with one "n" or two? I always get confused because of Spanish class... Anyway, I haven't been paying much attention to tennis if it has begun (obviously). How is Roger Federer doing? He is the man! I hope he never loses. I hope Tiger Woods never loses either. I love that Tiger dominates. If he never lost again, that would make me very hap..."

(Aloud) "Andrew, please continue."

(Aloud) "Uh... Where are we?"

(Aloud, and with a air of bitchiness) "Matt, could you please pick it up for us?"

"Fine bitch. I won't read. How do you like that? God, where was I?"

After a brief nap, my stream begins again...

"Metaphors and similes... how about this one, "This class is like a sleeping pill... It puts the entire class to sleep." Pills... Can't steroids be taken as pills? Doesn't matter any way because Roger Clemens likes it in the butt... WHOA... wait a minute, he likes steroids in the butt... "Taking it in the ass... how gay is that?"

Clock reads 1:50 meaning that class is over. She is still talking, but I am out... peace fackers....

Today's Lesson: Poetry leads to Gayness...

I guess I'm gay. I've written several thousand poems...

Lost in the Shaq shuffle - his free throws have imporved since working with Shot Dr. Phil (Weber). They have spread his hands out on have him flipping his wrist and not shot putting so much. He still isn't following through, but over the last 5 games he's at 67% (16-24) - A MASSIVE improvement for that guy.

(Shot Dr. Phil also works with Amare who is shooting 83% FT in March including a franchise record 20-20 last Saturday)

Well, I was just jotting notes as my thoughts wondered off... It's no wonder that I am a straight A student...

And yes Manny, we would all be terrified to see what goes on in a world that has too many styles ;)

Actually, to be honest, I like poetry as well. I've written many a poem. I just can't sit there and diagnose this stuff for hours on end, I don't have the paitence for that...

As far as Poetry=Gayness... that is simply where the train of thought ended up when class ended. If for some reason I began to think of Kangaroos, I would have written Poetry=Kangaroos... It just happens that it worked out that way...

No, Poetry = Gayness.

In my teen years I would try to write love poems to girls in hopes of getting laid and they thought I was gay. So you're right!

BUT, put the same poem to music (I think they call it a "song") and suddenly they become allergic to their panties! It's why so many big hair rockers look the gayest and still get laid so much...

Sorry, Falcon. It took a while for me to read the article. I was too busy staring at the Maria Sharapova pic you got over there. I'm sure the article would've gotten 100 votes if you put the pic on top of the article. ;)

It does matter which picture is on top of the article, it matters as to which one was uploaded first. Since the falcon logo has been on the site for a while, it just appears on the main page that way... and thanks :)

No, it's which picture is alphanumerically first...

when I want a specific picture to show on the page, I upload it with a 0 in front of the name.

reupload it as 0Maria or Amaria_sharapova and see what happens...

nice work falcon. good point about the Patriots fans. I need to write a stream of conscious article for all my daydreaming at work. strike that, thats too much work. I'd rather just get paid while staring endlessly at cnbc on my tv.
