Argos, Fins Near Ricky Williams Deal

ESPN is reporting that the Toronto Argonauts and Miami Dolphins are nearing an accord that would allow suspended running back Ricky Williams to play in the CFL next year. Williams is ineligible to play in the NFL for the next season because he just can't put down the bong. The deal would require the Argos to release Williams at the end of the upcoming season.
ESPN mentions that Williams has made about $270,000 since December 2003, and has three kids with one on the way. ESPN is probably insinuating that Williams needs the money, but doesn't have any reason to make the assertion outright, so they simply do it by implication.
Williams "retired" in leiu of serving a year-long suspension days before the 2004 NFL season. He unretired before the 2005 season, and had to serve a four game suspension per league rules.
