Arena Bowl XXI Preview

At 3:00 later today on ABC, the Columbus Destroyers play the San Jose

Sabercats for the arena bowl twenty-one championship.  Columbus is a number

six seed for the National Conference (7-9 in regular season), and are BIG

underdogs, as they face the number one seed from the American Conference

(13-3 in regular season), the game will be played in New Orleans.

My prediction:

After COL QB Matt Nagy led the six seed destroyers to three straight road

playoff wins over TB (56-55 after a last second missed FG by TB kicker Seth

Marler), Dallas (66-59 BIG, BIG upset), and Georgia (66-56 another big upset), I

think I am going to go with the team that reminds me so much of the underdog

Pittsburgh Steelers from the '05 NFL season.  The Destroyers have already

beaten the number one, two, and three seeds from the National Conference, so I

think they can handle the number one seed from the American Conference.  But,

Matt Nagy is gonna have to play 60 minutes of mistake-free football in order to

beat the hungry, and wild Sabercats.  But, Nagy will bring his A game, and

Columbus will win Arena Bowl XXI, 60-54, and it will come down to the Columbus

defense stopping Mark Grieb, and his Sabercat offense.

After the 'Cats kickoff return for at TD when the Destroyers had just tied the game, Nagy came unglued just long enough to let the game get away from him. It's too bad, the Destroyers were a good story. They lost to one of the best teams to ever take a football field, but were in the game a lot more than the final score would lead you to believe.

Yeah, he did. And I was really hoping that Columbus would win, but San Jose was obviously the better team.
