Are the Saints Back In It?

When the New Orleans Saints started off the season 0-4, almost everyone including me counted them out.
Quarterback, Drew Brees was struggling, throwing 9 interceptions alongwith only one touchdown pass. Reggie Bush didn't look like he was going to be the right person to take Deuce McAllister's spot after Deuce got injured for the rest of the season. The offense wasn't clicking and the defense was putting more pressure on the offense.
It just didn't look like the Saints would have another run at the
Super Bowl like their magical season last year. It seemed as if they
used up their inspirational wins last year and they couldn't carry over the momentum. But the last 4 weeks, it has been a different story. New Orleans has managed to win 4 straight and put themselves back into the hunt for the playoffs.
After an impressive 41-24 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Saints
evened out their record to 4-4 and it has them sitting pretty in a very
weak NFC South division. They are just a half of game behind the
division leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-4).
Drew Brees seems like he is back to normal with 11 passing touchdowns
in the last 4 games. With Brees playing well, he could carry his
teammates back into the playoffs.
The thing that could help the Saints make it back to the playoffs this
year is their schedule.
Here is a look at it...
Nov. 11
St. Louis Rams
Nov. 18
@ Houston Texans
Nov. 25
@ Carolina Panthers
Dec. 2
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Dec. 10
@ Atlanta Falcons
Dec. 16
Arizona Cardinals
Dec. 23
Philadelphia Eagles
Dec. 30
@ Chicago Bears
If the Saints keep playing the way they are now, they have a chance to
run through this schedule with no problem. But is it a fluke, or are
the Saints as serious as last year? If they are, there will be no doubt
that they will be back in the playoffs, pending on the play of the
Buccaneers. But for now, it looks like the Saints have their swagger
back and we'll see if they can keep it moving.
