Are the A's Already Planning on Moving?

Recently, the Oakland Athletics have been wearing green road jerseys emblazened with "Athletics" instead of the gray ones that say "Oakland." During the team's first road trip, which ended Thursday, the A's wore green jerseys for all seven games.

Some believe Lew Wolff, the Athletics new owner, has authorized this switch in an effort to remove Oakland from the Athletics brand in preparation for the team's relocation. Angels owner Arte Moreno made a similar decision by changing the word "Anaheim" to "Angels." The result: the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Damnit, pressed enter too soon... Look at hockey teams, how many of their jerseys have a city? I can't think of any off the top of my head, but if there are any, it's less than 5. Football teams don't have a city on their jerseys. It's just another way for the A's to make more money. The fans see them wearing the "Athletics" jersey instead of the "Oakland" jersey, and the fans think that to be cool, they need to go out and buy the new "Athletics" jersey, because the "Oakland" one is not cool anymore. That's $100 per fan, just because the team decides to wear another jersey.
