Another Day, another Patriots Signing

ESPNews is reporting via the San Deigo Union-Tribune that Linebacker and likely future Hall of Famer Junior Seau will re-sign with the New England Patriots. So far this off season, the Patriots have signed several players, including former Miami Dolphins FB/RB Sammy Morris, and WR/KR/PR Wes Welker; former Baltimore Ravens Linebacker Adalius Thomas, former Washington Redskins WR Kelly Washington, and former New Orleans Saints WR Donte Stallworth. They also traded a 4th round pick to the Oakland Raiders for WR Randy Moss.

The only key losses this off season so far are RB Corey Dillon (expected to retire), and LB Tully Banta-Cain (signed by the 49ers). CB Asante Samuel still has yet to sign his one year deal, but if he were to leave, it would be via trade for at least a 1st rounder and another day one pick. If Samuel re-signs, I think its safe to say the Pats will be booking their flight to Glendale in February.

Actually there is a team down in San Diego and another wearing rings right now who are pretty good as well. Oh, and if that team in the Windy City can get a QB that plays well they might be pretty good too.

the team wearing rings added nothing. The pats would replace players, but the Colts aren't doing anything. A less Talented Pats team that had Reche Caldwell as the No. 1 reciever (now a 3rd-5th option) beat them. Brady has Two guys that if healthy and playing decently, demand a double coverage. Even if one of them doesn't, the Pats would just run 4 WR's against the Chargers to negate the strength of their LB's. They play the 3-4 and it's brady to moss for a TD. They play quarter, we hand the ball off to my boy Maroney on the Draw. It's gonna be hard to stop this offense, and a LB Corps lead by Vrabel and Thomas on the Outside, and Bruschi and Seau on the Inside. The Dline is good, and while Sammuel concerns me, if someone comes knocking on the door with a long term offer for him in exchange for 2 first round picks, or even a 1st and 2nd round pick, I'll be more than pleased.

You assume that Moss actually plays for the Patriots.

why wouldn't he? He'd at worst get a 4 game suspension, but it is unknown because he's never tested positive a second time. The first one is confidential till the second one

Who knows about Moss. if he doesn't convert immediately than he'll be cut. For Billy B. its his way or the highway. Also I am tired of every Patriots fan (Not You F.P.) who is already booking reservations for Glendale, Arizona. We haven't even gotten to Mini Camp and Training Camp yet. Relax!

I'm not there yet. I'm saying if everyone plays at the level I expect them to (Moss essentially has to not screw up and give enough production to be an actual No. 1 WR). Moss will be fine through this year, he took a pay cut to play for the Pats. It's next year once he's proven he can still play he will be a disruption.

I'd say that Daniel Graham was a pretty significant loss for the Patriots..

ehhh... Only if Watson can't perform. Otherwise, it's no big deal

I think you underestimate the blocking ability that Graham added to the running game. Though Kyle Brady can hopefully replace him in that respect, he was still a very valuable player.
