American throws no-hitter in Japan

10
Vote

Rick Guttormson of Torrance, California threw his first career no-hitter for the Yakult Swallows of the Japanese league. He struck out nine while walking only one and allowing only one other opposing player to reach base (on an error in the first). Guttormson has no major league experience.

Can I just say that I think the Swallows is one of the funniest team names ever? Is that really the translation? That's gotta be a poor translation.
