All In A New York Minute

As if the New York Giants didn’t already have enough problems…Now comes a new one. This is just me, but I’m thinking there aren’t enough Band-Aids to cover all the wounds! Losing, injuries, pointing fingers, losing more, calling out teammates, retirement talk, opening your pie hole while bumping your lips together, (I always thought New York already had a healthy supply of polluted air) did I say losing? If this isn’t the perfect recipe for disaster, what is, right? So why not make some more noise…Considering the fact that this is the one thing the Giants are good at.

It wasn’t enough that Jeremy Shockey spouted off about how nobody beats the Giants, they just beat themselves. Oh really my man…Good to see that University of Miami education still holds no value. “If we play up to par nobody can beat us.” Yeah, you go boy…Go ahead and get yourself all fired up for when the Cowboys come calling Sunday because after that this season will be all but over. While those comments may be all well, fine, and good, but J-Shock you guys haven’t broken par in quite awhile….According to my calculations, the last three times out, well lets just say your play best resembles that of Michelle Wie. So do us all a favor and go stuff your head in one of those bunkers that she always seems to find herself in! Or depending on the course, go get lost in the woods! I finally figured out what you are…None other than the white version of one great, I mean terrific receiver. That would be, the one, the only Freddie Mitchell…Fredex, meet J-Shock! All things considered, I guess it could be worse…It’s not like he called Bill Parcells a “homo’. I mean, this time. Here’s a crazy thought…Instead of wasting time and energy flapping your yap, why not just save it for Sunday? Oh that’s right…Sunday’s you never seem to appear!

The soap opera doesn’t end there, oh no! The latest episode of “All in a New York Minute” has Michael Strahan getting vilified for going awol on an ESPN reporter for some comments he made on WFAN radio regarding Plaxico Burress. Now we all heard the comments that he said on Monday…Let’s read between the lines here peeps. Those comments on WFAN were just constructive criticism…Nothing more, nothing less! It’s not like he ran Burress over with the bus and then backed over him. Now should he have said those comments in the first place, even though I personally find nothing wrong with them…Most likely not! For the simple fact that he knows the media loves a storyline…They don’t give a rats ass if it’s constructive criticism, they’re going to twist it around into a story! Perfect example of why shit needs to stay behind closed doors!

What I have a problem with is how come Strahan is getting attacked after what he did to that reporter yesterday? We all know what she was trying to do…She was trying to stir up even more hubbub by going back and forth between Burress & Strahan. Are we in high school here? Well Tommy said this, Jeremy said this, Tiki said this, Eli, said this, Michael said this…Well, on second thought it does fit on that team! So why is it then that everybody thinks he was in the wrong by asking that reporter to step to the front of the class, instead like he said “hiding in the back”? Like the ole saying goes, “You got something to say, say it to my face.” She might’ve been trying to cover the story, but she was also trying her best to create even a bigger one! He was just trying to do the mature and adult thing by having her step forward and holding her accountable for her actions, or in this case comments!

Isn’t it funny how the media can spit & write any kind of shit ever imaginable on professional athletes, but as soon as the athlete decides he or she wants to spit back, they always seem to get crucified for it! What's the difference...A double standard, huh? Let’s put this in a different perspective, shall we. We all believe in different methods in raising our children. What would the reaction be if somebody who didn’t even know what was going on in your world decided they wanted to come into your house to spit something at you and drill you about your parenting skills, techniques, and beliefs. Or better yet, if they weren’t even confronting you face to face about it. What would the reaction of yours be? Most likely the same as Strahan’s! So rock the mic Mike…I just have one question. Was that some sort of sandwich you were eating before chewing on her?

Stay tuned for next week’s scenes from… “All In A New York Minute”, where Eli Manning does his best to resemble a NFL quarterback.

Vote in the LastRowSports.com new “Pick’em” which ask about which was the better host on MTV’s “Singled Out” back in the day. We all know we watched it while slobbering all over ourselves watching Jenny & Carmen. Which one made your blood or something else bubble more…?
