Alfredo Griffin (Alfredo Claudino Griffin) was born on October 6, 1957 in Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional (Dominican Republic). He made his Major League debut on September 4, 1976 for the Cleveland Indians. In 1979, his rookie year, he hit .287 with 2 home runs and 31 RBI. Griffin played for the Cleveland Indians, Toronto Blue Jays, Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Dodgers over the course of his 18 year career.

Most people believe that Alfredo Griffin's best season was 1986, when he stole 33 bases, hit for a .285 average and knocked in 51 runs.
