Al Martin (Albert Lee Martin) was born on November 24, 1967 in West Covina, California. He made his Major League debut on July 28, 1992 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1993, his rookie year, he hit .281 with 18 home runs and 64 RBI. Martin played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres and Tampa Bay Devil Rays over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Al Martin's best season was 1996, when he slugged 18 home runs, stole 38 bases, hit for a .300 average and knocked in 72 runs.
