Born on May 12, 1889 in Toledo, Ohio, Al Schulz (Albert Christopher Schulz) played for the New York Highlanders, New York Yankees, Buffalo Blues and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 5 year career. Schulz broke into the bigs on September 25, 1912 with the New York Highlanders, and put up a 3.73 ERA in 193 innings pitched in 1913, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Al Schulz's best season was 1915, when he posted a 3.08 ERA, won 21 games and struck out 160 batters.
