Al Niemiec (Alfred Joseph Niemiec) was born on May 18, 1911 in Meriden, Connecticut. He made his Major League debut on September 19, 1934 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1936, his rookie year, he hit .197 with 1 home run and 20 RBI. Niemiec played for the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 2 year career.
