Al Merkovsky (Albert J. Merkovsky) was born on April 13, 1917 in Braddock, Pennsylvania. Merkovsky attended the University of Pittsburgh. Merkovsky made his professional debut in the NFL in 1944 with the chicago/pittsburgh. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and chicago/pittsburgh over the course of his 3 year career.
