Al Lawson (Alphonzo Lawson) was born on June 6, 1941 in Washington, District Of Columbia. After going to high school at Springarn (Washington, DC), Lawson attended Delaware State University. Lawson made his professional debut in the AFL in 1964 with the New York Jets. He played for the New York Jets for his entire 1 year career.
