Born on June 5, 1918 in Worcester, Massachusetts, Al Javery (Alva William Javery) played for the Boston Braves for his entire 7 year career. Javery broke into the bigs on April 23, 1940 with the Boston Braves, and put up a 5.51 ERA in 83.1 innings pitched in 1940, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Al Javery's best season was 1943, when he posted a 3.21 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 134 batters.
